I thought it would be fun to hear about other animals you own and how they get along with your doberman or dobermans.

Lucy, our Sr. use to hate cats until two barn cats joined us. Now I am not for keeping animals in some barn but my dogs just aren't sharing the house. That would be one heck of a mess. Lucy use to bark and just hate cats. Now she is tolerate. We introduced her on lead and after a few weeks she ignored them. Lucy loves to go with us when we work in the garden. She just lays out in the pasture and dreaming she is standing guard. LOL. She now ignores them, unless they run. Then, she chases them, but can be called off. The other dogs aren't so nice. Thankful the cats just hide from them. Smart cats.:)

We have two cats, chickens, and six horses. We have two Quarter Horses, two Appaloosas, and two POA's. As well as the wildlife that are on the property as well. We love to see the deer out and grazing in the neighbor's corn field. :D

Oh no! Not the corn! The red necks around here will shoot them, believe me. I love chickens free ranging. They are fun to watch. And we share the love of horses, as you know.

I have an inside cat and my dobermans. The cat rules the house - keeps the dogs in line. However, he would be toast if he were outside and my dogs saw him.

Funny how they act different in different company. Like some dog people....I have known. LOL

Oh yes and the rednecks here hunt that way also. I am the freak that drives and rolls down the window yelling run Bambi run. The hunters hate me. hehehe. I had a hunter hunting illegally in our woods. I was yelling at him telling him that I would call the game warden on him. And he had the nerve to yell at me that I was disrupting his God given right to put food on his table. The nerve. It is pretty funny though. I don't mind people hunting and putting food on their tables just don't take my wildlife on my property. :D

Pretty scary though after all was said and done. He came into my driveway with his rifle. And the sheriff pulled up behind him and had to take it away from him. Stupid me he could have shot me. Oh well I won't have one of my dogs or horses being shot when someone is on my property that has no right to be there. I guess the problem here is a lot of them are not able to read the NO Trespassing signs. And heaven help them if my granddaughters are outside playing either. Nothing like the wrath of a grandmother chasing a redneck hunter with a doberman and a big stick. :D

Just a bunch of beagle dogs. Jett thinks she's one too. LOL Of course, we have wild turkey in our yard & deer all the time. I love watching the male turkey preen for the females. Too pretty!!

I have a three old rottie named Cyren, she is the ruler of the house and busts Prince's chops when he is out of line... even when he is not out of line.

I have a two year old male Stafford named Fergus, he the calmest and most calm dog you could ever know. He pays no mind to Prince at all but they sleep together on my ottoman.

I also have a one year stafford female named Karma, she is Prince's buddy and they are sleeping together on the ottoman. They are closer in age and they seem to hit it off quite well.

I also have a 265 gallon marine aquarium with quite a few rare and beautiful fish. Prince watches them swim around all the time. Fish all have distinct personalities as well.

I have dozens of wild deer in my back yard, cougars, bears, moose, pine martins, squirrels and whatever other wild animal you can think of living in my back yard. Prince has to tell me that every single one of them is around at all times. He is too new to allow him to chase the deer of the property yet, but he will join the other dogs in doing this service for me. You do not want deer around you house and property when you have a huge cougar population. The cougars come very close to the house and kill deer on my land quite often. The reason I know this, is because the dogs bring what is left of them home all the time. It used to bother me, but I am now immune to it. They eat pure organic venison, what can I say.

This is actually my son's dog but thought this picture was so amazing. Buzz is a puppy and only needs a major to finish. He is best friends with their doberman who like to chase squirrels. I think Buzzz has an advantage.....this would be a great puzzle. LOL:eek:

I thought the same exact thing when I first saw this photo....It would kind of be like one of the Bev Doolittle Puzzles with the paint horses that she does all of the time.

i used to. till the coyote/lab got them. i used to raise and show chickens and ducks.
its sad, we used to have a true zoo with a miniature cow, goats rabbits guinea pigs rats mice chickens ducks peacocks 2 baby deer (chester and emmy) snakes lizards you name it we owned it! now we are down to the 10 1/2 horses 2 guinea pigs and 2 chinchillas. i miss my zoo! we also have lets see... kiara came first then toby... then kiara was prego.. had 4 dogs got 2 then she had 4 dogs got two more now shes a mom again so we have around 9 barn cats. we did have 5 in the garage and we had territory wars if the black garage cats were seen over by the orange barn cats territory. it was pretty comical to watch. as far as dogs, we have the corgi, the coy dog, and the 3 dobes. we also live on 115 acres so abandoned fawns are a yearly thing and turkeys come in flocks of 25-30 we never see less than 20 at one time. the bucks here are HUGE and old and are not afraid to charge a horseback rider (I WOULD KNOW!) i got charged last year by a 14 pointer who was as big as my horse! we havent allowed hunting in 15 years so all the wildlife comes here, like for example the bobcat that ate my rabbit a couple years ago. or the weasels we have steal chickens. or the fox that tried to get to our barn but the horses caught and killed it. oh, we have the wildlife!

No unfortunately we no longer have our chickens. We had a very nice area for chickens and apparently even with that the racoons and possums thought that they had a regular drive through for KFC at our house. No more of the 50 chickens are left.

Dang. No more fresh eggs etc. We also have the pleasure of a wild turkey gobbling out behind my bedroom window every morning. He is driving me crazy.........

My family have always had horses and all that but we were from the city. Moving to the country about 8 yrs ago, we enjoyed having new interests and just had to have chickens. We even hatched them for awhile but that's just too much for me.....lol.....now we just enjoy eggs, share with friends, and the dogs

Our chicken are free run and we lock them up at night. We have Turkins (the ones with bald necks), Easter Egg (that lay pink, blue, & green eggs) and Jungle Fowl. The Jungle Fowl mix allows them to fly better and they are extremely fast. The dogs don't bother them unless they commit suicide by flying over the fence which is rare....thankful of that.

The teenager down he street showed a few of our chickens before we let them mix. I really couldn't see myself washing and grooming Chickens or showing them. I also hatch in an incubator at school every year. That's fun and the kids enjoy it.

We also have wild guinea fowl that are wonderful for all types of bugs, ticks, and fleas. They live in the trees in all kinds of weather unless there is deep snow. And we have several Peacocks that roam in and out during the year. Everything runs free here.

Eddie is a carpenter so I have the best little chicken house in Oklahoma. LOL...

One night I forgot to shut it and found a raccoon that had eaten a hen and was hiding. I called a neighbor and he caught the raccoon with a pole. Turned out she had babies so he kept her and had plans to let her go. The game warden came out and fined him. Felt really bad about it.....but always shut it now and nothing comes in that way.

Another time, a dog that someone dumped was starving and came into the chicken house. I walked up on him. He chased me on top of CH and sadly, when Eddie found him he went after him too. He was forced to shoot him. We were just sick about it for weeks. The chickens stayed up on the roost, so that was good. Sad when people dump dogs. What do they think they eat? Do they think country people just take all these dogs in? Sad and sader that we had to shoot him when we love dogs. It was the only way I could come down and stay safe. Dumping dogs in the country is common. It is how I have got at least 3 rescues in Osage county.

Thanks Rhiannon. Yes, Eddie does a nice job....way too much of a perfectionist sometimes.

Love the picture from RKCM!!! We have a 7 year old all Black cat named Valerie that we got as a kitten from a local shelter. She is the queen bee in out house. She is an indoor cat and has been declawed on her front claws. It took Niko and Valerie a bit to get along with each other but they do fine now. It depends on the mood of each animal, but they do seem to like each other.
