OMG it was 70 yesterday and I woke up this AM and have an inch of snow and still coming. It is the first day of spring. It's all good but when it melts- it is a mess. I have one that will find that one patch of mud and just laugh as she runs through it. Reminds me of a boy that use to bring mud pies in the playhouse. I'm much kinder to my doberman. She is just full of herself and knows she gets a rub down and bath. Smart dog.

Dang! I'm ready for warm and so are the dobes.

Here is a picture of my old 9 yr old, Lucy yesterday. She likes to wait right in the field by the garden for me. She's so good.

The next picture is this morning. This is just strange weather. No mud yet, though. LOL:eek:

Oh, the mud is coming. Even if it dries up, Darla will head right for it! She's a great dog but loves the puddles. Not fun.

A puddle is a small pool of water that has accummulated during a lot of rain or snow. I thought everyone had those???? And she has a fenced acre so it is not that she lives in mud, surely you know that! She just loves the puddles. She runs through the water like a banche' but is a heck of a tracker! She puts her head up high and doesn't sniff or any of that. Just tracks that mud right in, unless I catch her at the door. Yes, I have a tracker and a good one.

That is really some goofy weather you are having there, green lush looking grass one day and snow covered the next, wow! We are finally having some really nice weather here in south east Pa., it has been long overdue. I took Gino out for a nice long walk in the woods today and came up on one of those puddles like you mentioned. I was proud of him too when he just sniffed it and didn't take a drink when I told him not to and especially when he skirted around it instead of trapsing right through it. He's learning and that's always a good thing!

No - I have NO IDEA how my dogs get so muddy. We never have mud!!!! ROFLOL

Honestly - I don't think I can survive April Showers this year with as muddy and cooped up we have been.

To Add: AHHHHHH the mud tracker!!! I am just going to plant potatoes inside this year.

Yesterday my soft leaf magnolia was in full bloom today all those pretty pinkish purple flowers are frozen and when it thaws they will turn into nasty brown goo. Every year that tree blooms twice and it freezes after it, it has become a 'one more freeze to go' indicator.

Oh please do not tell me that. Two freezes after the tree blooms??? How has it lived??? Oh that makes me sad Magnolia's are so beautiful.

Here in central Ohio we have a weatherman who loves to remind us that there are always three snows after the forsythia bloom... and he's usually right! We've had a week of the 50's and 60's now, so it won't be long before we see the bloom; then the count begins! :)

Some call these Saucer magnolia, the blooms can be up to 10" wide. Google it and you can see them. The leaves are soft not stiff and waxy like the white magnolia. There are very few in this area and I don't know why because they are pretty and never get huge so they are easy to landscape with as long as you trim off the dead end branches every couple of years. This one has been here since long before I got this house in 94 and hasn't really change any in size since then. Oh please do not tell me that. Two freezes after the tree blooms??? How has it lived??? Oh that makes me sad Magnolia's are so beautiful.
