Hi all;
Been reading the forum for a couple weeks. We lost our Doberman a couple weeks ago due to complications from surgery and we are going to pick up a puppy next Saturday. They are European Dobes and we are going to get another female. The breeder feeds them Blue Buffalo food. Anyone feed their Dobe this food? How is it?

Sorry to hear about your loss but glad you have a new puppy.
I dont know much about that dog food. I know it is all natural so that sounds good. You can't just switch puppies over and you should NOt feed puppy food. I'd follow what the breeder said at first, at least until you have researched. Sorry, I wasn't much help.
We'd all like to see pictures of your new daughter. When do you get her? Welcome to the forum and glad ya have joined us.

Thanks for the kind words.
We are picking Meka up in Kalamazoo, MI this Saturday. My wife has been pretty devastated since her passing. The dog followed her everywhere and sat in her recliner with her every night. We had her for 3 1/3 years and a Dobe before her for 13 years. We love the breed.
Starting over with a new puppy.

Sorry to hear of your loss it is just as devestating to loose them at 3 1/2 as it is 13. My only knowledge of Blue Buffalo is as RKCM stated and I also totally agree do not change there food if you do decide to use something else for a while. There are many things that will throw dogs systems for a loop and that is one of them even your water can. We use well water and that can even do it to some dogs especially pups. Good luck with the little one and which one of you is more excited your wife or you? You can tell the truth we won't tell.

Thanks for the reply Big Dogs
I will tell the truth. I am very excited about getting another Dobe. We took her to puppy and adult obedience classes. She was very well mannered and a great dog. Looking forward to bonding with her and creating another member of our household.

I feed my guys Blue Buffalo and wouldn't feed them anything else (I have tried them all over the years).
Regardless of what we all recommend, if the dog doesn't do well with it (lackluster coat etc) try something else.
Sorry about your loss.
