I have a 6 month old male doberman that I got about a month ago. When I got him he was really underweight. Since I have had him, I've put about 5-10lbs on him. But you can still see his ribs. I have never had a male dobie before, but I do have females. They didn't start bulking up until around 8-9 months old. Is this normal for male dobies? And is there anything I can do, to help put weight on him?

At this age they all look tall and skinny as long as he doesn't have worms and you are feeding him a good quality feed he should be fine. I'f you have only had him a month and he put on 5 or 10 pounds it sounds like he is doing just fine.
Big dog is right. Even if he has been wormed, I'd have him checked again. What are you feeding? Make sure he is getting enough food and is eating what is needed for his weight. Is he getting enough exercise? A little rib is ok for a puppy but you don't want to feel the hip bone on his rear. That I'd be concerned about that. At 6 months, he is old enough for heartworm meds which in my area is a MUST and it takes care of worms too.
Puppies are thinner though. Do you have a picture? We all love to see puppies.

Welcome from Missouri - Alot depends on how he was taken care of prior to you getting him, but hif he has gained that much weight I would say you are on the right track as long s he was checked for worms. If he gains as much in the next month then that is what you want. Don't want to put it on too fast.

He is eating Purina puppy chow mixed with Pedigree large breed puppy formula. We took him to the Vet last Monday and had him checked out and everything. He said he is healthy. . He is definitely getting enough exercise. His coat is shiny and everything, he is very active. He plays fetch for hours.
I wouldn't have him on puppy chow.
