The other day I went to Wal Mart at mid day. It was HOT outside. When I cam out there was a car parked next to me with a poor puppy shut in the car in a crate sitting in the front seat in the sun. The puppy was barking and squeaking but sounded to me like it was getting hoarse and weak.
I sent a friend inside to alert Walmart to page the person. They did not want to page them - I could not believe it. They did come out and get the license plate when we told them we would make it known that they did nothing to help the puppy if it died.
A few minutes later here comes a guy walking very slowly to the car. He is young so not old and slow. He comes over and opens the door and looks in and sees the dog is still alive and starts to shut the door and leave - I said wait a minute you can't leave that puppy in that car in this heat. To which he then moved the crate over to the other side of the car. I went and offered him water. He said he didn't need it. (I had already called my husband and told him to call the police - Animal control said not their problem - the police did come.
Anyway the guy calls someone in side the store I am assuming and tells them to hurry I have called the police which I told him. A few minutes later he gets in the car so I followed to see where he went if he tried to hide. He drove to the front waiting for I assume his wife to come out mean time the police arrive and I go back and show them where he is loading his car to leave. It was a little tiny JRT. Probably just they just got it recently - a baby.
He said so the dog is ok now!!! and just sits there. I could have croaked. I am dumbfounded.
