I think they look better when their ears are natural. It really does change the look of the breed though doesn't it?

There ears are alot of work let me tell you. Both of those dogs are beautiful

Buddy.. to get ears that stand up they have to train them as well as have them surgically cut. This is a picture with the two dogs that have their ears wrapped up to get that final look. It is a standard proceedure to get that look and is done with other breeds as well. My dobies have what are called European or natural ears which are left alone and they are long and flop over like a hound dog. It does have a significant impact on the "look", I have lots of folks who think my blue is a Weimaraner because of her color and the ears. Mine came this way from rescues so they were too old to do the ears and I kind of like the natural look. :)
