Not sure what caused this puppy to be deaf, but sad sad......why even crop his ears if you aren't going to post the ears.......rehoming fee $50 and he is unfixed.

Is anyone near Rochester and can get this puppy in rescue? Heartbreaking and confusing to already being rehomed at 7 months. Poor little guy. Dang!

I would take the little guy in a heartbeat! I once fostered a deaf adult dog, but he had been trained with hand signals to some extent so it was helpful. At first I was a little concerned having 2 other dogs but it actually helped him. When they went out, he went out, when they came in, he came in, and you get the pic,,I am sure that there are forum members in that area that would be more than happy to step up to the plate if rescue hasn't already..gotta watch that Craigslist!!!!!

Looks like it's listed in the Rochester area, but the ad itself says Newark.

Be nice if we had a forum member that could save this little guy. 7 months and being dumped already. Wonder where his breeder is or if the owner is the breeder. And actually, with the care of the cropped ears, ya have to wonder if he is deaf due to an infection or born that way. Some of you remember the two puppies that we rescued awhile back that they said was deaf and in fact, he could hear after antibiotics and a trip to the vet.........sad how people neglect their responsibilities.

Just remember when you buy from a breeder that will not always take their own puppies back.....you support this type of stuff. Poor puppy! Craiglists and forums are not a great place to purchase a puppy in my personal opinion......you see things like this all the time.

Anyone in the New York area? Let's try to get this puppy into rescue or a forever home..

Granted there may be contracts involved in the selling of a puppy but BEFORE a breeder can take back a puppy HE has to be made aware that the owner wants to "get rid' of the dog. Perhaps, just maybe, a breeder may recognize this dog and do the right thing, more than likely this is not going to be the case but one can hope!!! Sometimes it all too small a world!

Kinna like old mother hubbard.......don't have that many puppies, know where they are, and call and keep in contact......it's the breeders responsibility. Just my personal opinion.

When your contract says the dog must be returned.......it should mean that. Unfortunately, don't think the owners or breeder cared too much about this poor puppy........sad. Some breeders would place a dobe puppy with anyone because it's all about the money.....$50 geeze!

Many times when owners surrender a dog back to the breeder, it appears as if for some reason the dog didn't work out? temperment issues , stupidity, etc and they just wanting the dog gone at any price. Othertimes the scenario may simply be that the owner knows he w will ot generally receive his purchase price so the dog is listed as your posted indicated on CL...to some something is better than nothing! microchipping may be good for return of a lost dog BUT there have also been studies done on the adverse effect of essentially injecting a chip into the body..so not eveything a tird and true solution. Also wanted to ad that I prefer a tatoo, it is open and visible even when found by a shelter, indivdual that does have the technology of a scanner. And there are ho-dunk areas that still do not.

This is why those of us that want to protect our pups go to an attorney and make sure our contracts work in our state and have all we need to protect our puppies. Sometimes if the fine is high enough, the dog gets returned and is protected.........and ya know, checking out the homes makes a lot of difference. You go there......you make sure what dogs they have, if they have children, a fence...........and if things don't look good, ya don't sell the dog....real simple deal and it saves you and the dog a lot of heartbreak.

Some do, some try hard to remain friends with their purchaser but things happen, people lie..divorces, etc..Ther4e is no sure fire way....and most ETHICAL breeders since they do not breed for money since a properly raised litter is so expensive not only in a monetary value but also timehave the funds to pursue a lengthy and expensisive court battle...?

I have fewer doberman litters than most of you have dogs and I always have a waiting list, so I guess my dog families understand it is all for the puppies protection.... LOL. No, I don't ship unless I know the person......and by that I mean either I visited the home or I had someone do it. Too many things can happen and people can lie.........Having dobermans is not a business for us, it's a family. It's worth the money to us to enforce and we will win because the terms are clear.
