Milo has a little scratch on his side where his tuck-up is. For some reason though it really bothers him, and he's been licking it quite often, to the extent that quite a bit of the hair around the area has been licked off.

I've been trying to put polysporin on the scratch so that it heals faster and won't bother him anymore. However, every time i put it on, he immediately turns around and lick it off! I've tried to sneak it on him when he's sleeping, when he's busy eating, occupied with something else etc., but no luck, he still seems to instantly know it's there and then proceeds to lick it off!

Any tips on how to keep the polysporin on???? Or is this just futile on my part and i should just let it heal on its own time?

I recommend just letting it heal if you can. My dobies have always been a bit OCD about licking especially if they have a scratch or something. Putting anything on it has just made the area more attractive to lick. You have to be careful to make sure that you don't get a hot spot. If you do - there is nothing I know for it but to put on an e-collar. A few days of that and they get past the lick it raw state and you can hopefully complete the healing

I agree, try not putting anything on it. He just might forget all about it.
