t is a little known fact that Dobermans have served as soldiers and saved thousands of lives. Not a single platoon with Dobermans deployed was ever caught by surprise and ambushed.

The Doberman has made itself a valuable servant to countless Military and police organizations, and has many advantages over other working type breeds. They are still used for many jobs with many service organizations.

Interesting. I'd love to hear first hand stories from soldiers who used the Doberman.

I have always heard of dobies as War Dogs.. I think it has been so since they were first recognized. They are so smart, sensitive and athletic fit makes perfect sense. My only issue is that I've always heard that the dogs used in war (that survived) were abandoned or otherwise disposed of. A sad ending for their heroism.
