I'm new.
I just aquired my 1st Doberman puppy a few weeks ago, and have alot to learn, I'm sure. I've had German Shepherds forever, but when my husband and I decided it was time to add a puppy, we wanted to go with something with less fur (Shepherd people often refer to their dogs as German Shedder Dogs- yes, it's that bad).
So, we currently have a 10 year old shepherd named Willow, and a 10 week old red doberman named Deja.
All of the regular puppy stuff is going fine- no accidents in the house this week (yet), she's learning her manners very well, and is even starting to figure out some basic commands. Our only problem is ears- please check out my post in the health section and offer any advice you may have!
So anyway-
Brand New. Already need help. Probably going to be trouble ;)

We adopted our second doberman a month and a half ago. She's a year and is enrolled in a training class. You will love your dobe and she will return it many-fold! Just be patient and work with her and you will have a great companion. Dobes are Great!!

Dobies do have alot less hair..especially against shepard. But there is some shedding so don't expect to get away perfectly clean. Welcome and I know you will love your new velcro dog (glued to your side!) All my dobies have had natural or 'european' ears so no help with the tape/posting issues here. Good luck
