Last night was the local SPCA black tie event the Fur Ball. This is a once a year charity ball and silent/live auction. I bid on and won a dog training package with a fairly good training group. :) The question is how to use it. I could start Indigo (my 2yr old blue) in a distraction class to get her CGC and then have her ready to start into beginer agility. Or I could take my rottie and do the rally class. My rottie has her CGC and we have started Rally obedience, but we are a long way from being ready to compete. Her new slogan is "will work for food". Of course treats are not allowed in competitions so it may be 6-12 months before I feel we are ready to do that, and I don't want to not have classes for her. She would not be ready for the advanced Rally where I have her in training currently, but a different rally class in a different group of dogs might be worth it? On the other hand, this group will have to be the one for Indigo with the agility.. they have alot invested in agility and many levels. They are considered the best around so I will definately want to go with them on that, it might be worth it to start Indigo with them right away? Thoughts?

Yep.. I signed her (Indigo) up. We will start on the Distractions class at the end of this month. Turns out my instructor with my Rottie is pretty understanding. She is offering an intensive show prep class and thinks we should be able to do our first recognized show in Dec. Who would have thought? So I'm feeling better about that one, and now will focus on Indigo and Agility. I think getting her thru the CGC by year end will give me the most options for training.
