Most of you know that there are two shows in Pittsburg for the 2011 National. The first is the member club and the next the DPCA national. We are so pleased to hear that BISS was a veteran bitch shown by my dear friend and wonderful handler, Teresa Nail! Here is a picture from ringside. The bitch is 7 1/2 years old and absolutely beautiful!

The UKC has nothing to do with the National Specialty put on by the Doberman Club of American, the hosting club, and the AKC. That is a seperate sport with very different rules and etc. and can be discussed on a new thread.

I posted this picture to share my thrill that Teresa was handling this bitch and that she she was a Sr. It's a great win and so deserving of by the bitch and the handler.

Here is the results of the first show:

Have attended a few Nationals over the years and the entries are stunning, beautiful examples of our breed! Nice to see a 7 yr old bitch in that condition and able to compete with the best. Very nice.

Wanted to jump on here and comment on the WD I like him even though he is causing quite a stir on some of the mailing lists etc because many feel that he is not what the American Standard represents. I like him because of his bone and substance but he is Arg. like my line is. So of course I would like him. :D

Very interested in seeing others opinions on a dog of his type winning at the National. I would love to hear others opinions on how his "type" compares to the American and Euro lines. I have seen this same thing at the Weimaraner Nationals where dogs from other countries have done well and it also generated lots of good discussion.

Back from my much needed Florida vacation so ready to start participating again.

Very beautiful bitch and in my opinion Way To Go. I love to see the veteran dogs win big. Mature slow and stay together longer. Congrats to the handler and owners. Be very proud. Great job.

Tony, you are too funny! While all dogs have faults, it is clear to see what is outstanding.

Personally, I thought the dog looked stunning and from what i have i heard he did everything just right. i think it's in very bad taste to be critical of a dog that is clearly stunning. No dog is perfect and very easy to fault judge from the computer. Sour grapes even if they weren't there. But then - I think the ARG dogs have a lot of offer but it's just my opinion, as it was the opinion of the judge of the day. Congrats to the dog, his owners, and all involved! He was the winner and what we think isn't as important as the WD award at the National. GO ARG!

We could get little antlers to put on them since Christmas is coming up. We did that with Rumor two years ago I think and you could tell she was so appalled that we did that to her. But she is not looking forward to the next photo shoot I'll bet. We are though. :D

I remember that picture and poor Rumor was a Christmas Tree, but no deer, no way, no how.

Tony, is stuck on this deer thing! I love his sense of humor.

Teresa won the 12-18 month class at the National with Stella who has visited with us a few times between shows. Didn't take the points but a nice award for a young bitch.

HORIZON'S SIRIUS SENSATION. WS 35086704. 05-22-10
By Ch Horizon's Midnight Sun - Horizon's Sirius Love.
Owner: Janet Phillips & Linda George., Amarillo, TX 79118. Breeder: Linda & Rick George.

Some of you know that Linda showed our Dagger a few times when Teresa had another dog in the class. She did a great job with him too. She has very nice dobermans, several rated. Jan is a lovely lady that has trained dogs for the government for many many years and is such an interesting lady to talk to about dobermans. She doesn't like forums but amazing view of the working dogs and is one to the tops in training. And yes, she has done bite work with the dogs. Stella will be working later and promising bitch that I'll be watching. Congrats to all 3 great ladies!

I think wolfe's post sounds like I am the veteran. LOL. I do know you mean the Best in Show Bitch at Pilgrim's show. Dropped my coffee on that one! Either way you might be right. LOL

RK a veteran that can get around the ring is amazing but to win is questionable. I think it does speak well of the breeding, the dog. It was the best and it isn't a bad thing. I think it is wonderful for the breed. Maybe some should show our breed older, some show their dogs much too young.

Her Veteran win was questionable? Were we looking at the same pictures? Very very stunning bitch!

Yes, some dogs are shown too young, as some lines take longer to mature, but keeping them exposed to ring procedure is important (in my opinion) if you plan to continue to show them.

And congratulations to The Fifinator!!! Go Team FiFi!

The first in line is Teresa Nail during the Pilgrim specialty where she went Best in Show. I thought this was a great picture of my friend and the lovely veteran.

I know the third dog is handled by Michelle, not sure if that is the Garden winner.

Tony, this is why we love Teresa. She can set up a dog in seconds and works it. Great hand on the dogs.

I like the head on the third dog but, her dog has something the other two need more of and, that's CHEST!
