What is it with kids and dobes that allows for such powerful interactions! My 1 yr. old great grandson was here for a visit this weekend and his favorite playmate was Jett. He examined her teeth, yelled in her ear, layed down beside her and tried to give her his bottle (which she would have taken if she hadn't been told no), rode on her back, hit her in the head with her Kong when he tried to play fetch with her and she smiled thru it all!! He learned to do her sit hand signal in about 15 min. and she listened like he was grown. Of course everything he ate, Jett shared. When she did the play bow, he did too!! I guess kids know better dog language than adults. haha. It was hilarious and precious watching them become friends. When he left to go visit some others, Jett waited for him on the back of the couch just watching for the car. When he came back forget saying hi to anyone else...it was "Hi Jett?" then a fit of giggles they were off to their own little kingdom.

I am not sure but my young dog loves the kids. The younger the kinder she is and at just 1 year old that says alot for the Doberman. She too will let them poke and prode, even use her nub as handle to hold on to her. It is very nice to see. Although I have to say the cutest thing is listening to my frineds young son who is four yell 'Ichigo no' as she carts off with one of his toys. Ichigo has always been good about fetch with the young kids too, makes me jealous she rarely brings a ball straight back to me.

If Jett accidently knocked him down, she kissed him and he'd giggle and kiss her back. We couldn't decipher most of his jabbering to her but Jett seemed to understand it. It was just a joy watching them.
