What I would like to know is do you think fighting dogs should be rehabilitated and adopted out as family dogs, why or why not?

As many of you know it currently stands that if dogs are seized from a dog fighting ring they are housed till the defendant is found guilty and then euthanized, or if they show any signs of aggression they are euthanized immediately after seizure.

I saw a show on Nat Geo about Dog Town.. where they took the Michael Vicks dogs. I think they can be rehabilitated now... my only worry on that has ever been the agression toward other dogs.. If that can be helped (and let's face it most dogs don't do alot of interaction with other dogs anyway) then there should be no reason for such sweeping laws/rules.

Great Post, I also seen the Nat Geo Dog Town Special and another similer on Animal Planet with another set of Bad News Pitbulls, The work thats been accomplished with rehibilitating these dogs has turned conventional wisdom completly upside down and backwards. Its finally nice to see people are finally starting to see what i have been saying for years. While i agree this type of rehibilitation is best left to professionals. Anyways i believe this is true of all dog breeds just not all dogs some are far to gone to ever be rehibilitated. But at any rate the Bad News Kennels was a horrific discovery, im just happy to know somthing positive came out of it. And as an Anti BSL Activist we now have some kind of documented proof thanks to the like of Nat Geo and Animal Planet. Shows like these are reaching a wide audiance. Statistics now have a stronger leg then ever before to stand on.
