Just wondering how many of you fellow Dobe owners have a dog that HAS to express its opinion?!?
My girl, is very opinionated, and has a wide variety of barks, shrills, squeaks, whines, moans, groans, grunts, sighs, and whistles that she does! She even whines (squeals) when she yawns!!
Care to share?:p

Oh my..Kane has this really high pitch whine...he does not move his lips and at first your not sure it is him..but I have never known a dog to whine like this..I am interested if it is a dobe thing or what..if you dont follow him to the door to let him out, if you dont feed him fast enough, he will put his head down and whine..sometimes its funny but let me tell you, sometimes it can get annoying..like a child having a fit..

LOL...i feel ya there!! Im beginning to think its a Dobie thing. Seems like almost everyone I have talked to have express how noisy their Dobermans are. They are most definately a needy breed! They DEMAND attention and they want it NOW!! LOL

My Sara, my older (7yr) girl has a kind of yoodal sound she makes. Closed lips like you mention. She stops the minute you look at her. It is typically when she is in "dinner" which is stay in the other room while we eat. Then the songs begin. But now I get it sometimes when we are on the sofa if she thinks I'm paying too much attention to Indigo (2yr old)

We laugh at Magnum when he is trying to tell us it is time for a walk. He sounds like a hound dog, or rather an out of work country music singer.

Lucy is very expressive with her tone and body language when she "speaks". She cocks her head and makes various tones with her bark and it's almost as if she's speaking. It's funny.
