Today in Ontario we are getting a bad snow storm. Magnum went outside for his morning business and as soon as that door opened the breaks went on. If he could talk he would have said something like "I don't ____ think so".

It was so funny, he was almost panicking. I had to go outside with him and offer some morel support.

That's funny, we think Magnum is more cat than he his Doberman.

I think when Louis Dobermann was developing the breed a cat got in the mix somewhere.
Our dobes absolutely hate wet, icy, cold and would rather feel miserable until they absolutely can't hold it anymore. They would rather go back and be cozy comfy on the couch. :)

Hey Guys !! New to the forums !!!
I have a 16 month old red & tan male named "KANE" and this dog should have been a Huskey !!!!!! He loves the snow and the outdoors. He can't wait to get outside during the day and chase a ball through the snow, mud, grass, whatever !!!! I have'nt tried swimming with him yet though ???

I'm with you Rich S & Jelly8bean,

The minute winter hits my two are content to stay inside and hibernate. That's probably why the winter weight gain. They also don't like rain, most watering holes, like lakes and rivers, or the dark. I've had to install motion detector lights in the back yard for my male, Hercules. I can't sit out there at night in the dark and enjoy my little fire pit in the summer without Hercules leaping in the air near the motion sensor lights to turn them on if they go out. He gets a real worried look on his face if those lights are off, like there's a monster lurking in the shadows. But they both definently hate snow and cold weather the worst. Funny thing, though, if they hear some noise outside that they think shouldn't be there they are ready right now to go out and check it out and chase the 'intruder' away no matter what the weather.

Well Deano hasn't seemed to mind the dustings-to-an-inch or so we've had so far, but 6" fell today so we'll see how it goes on tonight's jaunt...:)
I can say unequivocally that he is (was) totally freaked out by ice. We had an ice storm 2 weeks ago, and the walk we took turned into a 2 hour drag-a-thon complicated by my inability to maintain balance and vertical position. Also ended up, on the back patio 8 feet from the back door, with me on my back with wrenched knee and badly bruised shoulder.:( But, we came through it together, and while he is cautious around ice, he gets better with it on each walk.

We had 8" snow fall here a couple of weeks ago and my six month old black/tan loved it. My mini pin and Chiwawa enjoyed also.

Jett likes the snow, wants to stay outside longer than she should. It was 0 yesterday with a windchill of -15 and snow on the ground. She still wanted to go and play. I had to go get her. She decided though that it was too cold to do her business in the snow and did it on the porch!! We now have to start "porch training" LOL
