Since we're all dog lovers here, I figure just about everyone must also be an animal lover.
I've been wanting to take my kids to a zoo this year. Only our oldest has ever been, and he was so little he doesn't even remember.
We're leaning toward the North Carolina Zoo since it's closest to us. It claims to be the biggest zoo in the eastern US and has every animal we're wanting to see except for tigers.
Have any of you guys ever been there? Or is there another zoo you'd like to recommend?
I'm open to suggestions! Thanks.

Well i'm in Canada, so no. But i have been to the Toronto Zoo once or twice in the past. It's SOO massive it takes a couple of days to go through the whole thing.

Hey I'm from Ontario Canada, and the Peterborough Zoo has everything you can imagine. But since your from the U.S. I guess it would be kinda hard for you to visit it :(

I've been to the Knoxville Zoo (TN) and the Columbus Zoo (OH), but it's been years ago. I preferred the Knoxville Zoo because it was larger and seemed easier to walk through.
Have fun with your kids at the zoo! It sounds great.

Thanks for the tips, everyone. Wherever we decide to go, I just hope the weather cools off! Whew!

BlastFromthePast I have visited North Carolina Zoo twice, it is a wonderful place to spend your weekend. It is a very secure place with lot of shelters and restaurants. One can enjoy the beauty of nature and wildlife by visiting this zoo. The special attraction of that place is the "Great grasslands of Africa" which has elephants and rhinos of the African origin roaming here and there. It is a breath taking experience. Don't miss the snake park. You will enjoy along with your kids. Have fun.
