Hey MLR - how is Chloe?

Did you get the thyroid test done? How is she doing? Have you found a trainer that you feel confident to work with her? Keep us updated on her progress.

Unfortunately no; there isn't an AKC trainer within a a 75 mile radius of my home to take Chloe to. So this is cost prohibitive for me.

The thyroid testing is next on my list when I take her for her next vet visit. Just getting out form under some huge winter heating bills right now. When that's all caught up Chloe is definently getting tested.

She has, however, been responding to my making her wait for her treats until I first give Hercules his. I agree this hasn't seemed to change the dominance issue between her and Herc, but I do see her giving me more respect because of this which is helping her listen to me more.

I still have to watch her, though, when they start to play things like tug of war with their toys in the house because she gets over excited and can forget she's playing and go after Herc. Thanks for the suggestion that I pay more attention to exactly what preceeds this behavior because it's getting somewhat better. But I do want to rule out the thyroid issue. It could be a little of both. At least I'll know for sure whether it's a training issue or a health concern that needs to be worked on. I'll keep you posted when I know something.
