Hello I'm kevin, recently bought an AKC registered dobe puppy. He seems to have a nickel to quarter sized lump on his elbow, he is only 6 weeks old, and acts just like ne other puppy. the lump on his elbow seems to be painless to him, when i touch it or move it a bit he doesnt mind, and the lump is something like a fatty or hard fluid type feel, ne ideas besides........"take him to the vet", i am gonna take him soon, but i figured somebody may have had the same problem as i am having.....

well aside from the "take him to the vet advice" i can say that dogs...like humans...do get lumps and bumps fairly often. Hopefully it's just a fluid buildup and nothing serious, but only your vet well know for sure :)

I agree, take him to the vet, and call the breeder. 6 weeks is very young to leave the litter. Socialization skills learned with the mother and the rest of the litter may be lacking and cause issues as your pup matures. 8 weeks is the youngest that it is considered still OK to take them. A reputable breeder would typically not allow a puppy to be taken this early. Where did you get this puppy?

Magnum had a little lump on this back right hip when he was a pup. We had it looked at by our vet and it turned out to be nothing. As magtie said, pups get lumps and bumps as humans do. Let your vet make the call though.

I agree with both statements. 6 weeks old is early to leave a dam and litter. Good Luck with that. And some dogs get calluses on their elbows, but better ask a vet.
