Doberman should be fed approximately 1.5 to 2.5 cans (400g size) of a branded meaty product with biscuit added in equal parts by volume.

What? I think you need to elaborate.

Personally, I never mix the dry and canned food together. I always place each type in a seperate dish.

I'm just assuming you mean dry dog food when you say biscuit, of course.

We just feed Magnum dry food. Although we have given some some wet food as a treat before.

I have heard all the above theories and followed some. Here are some of the tecniques I adopt to feed my dog - Feed your dog a premium dog food (Science Diet, Iams, Eukanuba, Nutro, etc.), Feed your dog kibble because it's good for his teeth, dog should chew on rawhide bones to help keep his teeth clean.

That you should feed your dog a premium dog food (Science Diet, Iams, Eukanuba, Nutro, etc.).I think premium food will provide enough hygiene to my dog

Our dog doesn't like the car very much despite going to great fun places and not doing too many journeys over half an hour. One suggestion has been to give him his dinner in the car (stationary of course) to encourage him to want to jump in the hatchback rather than me have to coax and lift him in as I do now. Does it work?

This is very difficult to do. I'd recommend you look into the natural complete foods already available. Applaws is very good- its all natural and fresh and already balanced.
http://www.applaws.co.uk/ is their website if you want to know more and you can order online.
If your still dead set on making your own diet you should speak to your vet who will be able to advice you on feeding and put you intouch with a nutritionalist to advice you.
Hope this helps
