could he be getting into something else besides dog food? I know with my guy, when he has the scoots, it's a good indication he ate something he shouldn't have

have to say.. I would check with a vet. This doesn't sound food related, perhaps some sort of other stress during the day? Lots of water doesn't sound just right either and would worry me especially since it just started. He may be getting into something else during the day? Body is still pretty young, so you could also try feeding 3 times a day with less food each time. You may be overfeeding him a bit. My dobie girls who are 50 and 70lbs get 3 cups a day total as adults. Only my rottie who is 90 lbs gets 4 cups a day. Each is broken into 2 feedings. Puppies normally get 3 times a day feedings till they are about 1 year old. It helps their digestive needs.

doesn't sound right to me to be honest, if it was the food it would be all the time. u say "drinks water like a fish" how much water is being drunk in a day roughly, also how old is the dog...personaly i would consult a vet.

brody is 50 lbs and 5 months old. i have been givin him 2 cups in am and 2 cups in pm. he is his crate during the day while we are at work. I am just wondering if it is the evo food he is not into anything, he does eat grass like it is going out of style!!! plus awful gas!!!! pheww!!! i really wonder if he is getting too much food. evo does not have "puppy" food only small bites for small dogs and large bites for big dogs...i have no clue or have anyone of you had any luck with evo food?

there goes my theory then, i was thinkin either the dog has been holding it as they hate to mess there crate, and/or the dog was so excited when the dog sees you it just lets go...

only time my dobie is like that is when he is desperate for the toilet, and so i get him out quick style

Mine had gas for quite a while too.. definitely a sign the food is not agreeing. I typically give them a couple of tablespoons of plain low fat yogurt 2 times a week and it has solved that silent but deadly problem. Eating grass is also supposed to be a sign they are trying to throw up. My girls eat grass in the spring (I can't stop it) then toss cookies in the evening. Doesn't seem to effect the poo though.

my old dobie was gassy 24/7, as he was trotting up the street all u could hear was a squeak from the rear on every step
