Jett's sutures came out today and her ears are up again. She acted like a complete hysterical fool with the cropping vet. He had to sedate her to work on her!! I couldn't believe how she acted and was very upset that sedation was necessary. :( I'm hoping we won't have problems taping because I hate to take her back if she is going to react so badly that she needs sedated. If it comes to that again I just might leave her ears alone. She's forgotten though and is snoring now:cool:

Jett is such a cutie that ears can be up or down, her loving spirit will come shinning thru. But it is a concern that she has such a bad association with Vets.. perhaps you need to start working on her with treats at the vet? I had a dog once that was not happy to get in the car because we only did it when she had to go to the vet. My vet suggested we make a couple of trips to McD's and get a plain burger for her there. It worked wonders on her attitude! :)

I think a big part of the problem yesterday was a different vet and tech than Jett usually sees took her sutures out as the cropping vet was doing an emergency surgery. Then we had to wait and she's pretty impatient there. We walk, walk, walk before she goes in the office because she rides for an hour and half to get there. She gets treated several times during her visit, especially when she sits on the table. Well at any rate I think having strangers work on her first was a mistake. I should have held them off until her doc came in. Guess it was a lesson learned for me. She likes her regular vets and techs (wiggles her little nub and gives sloppy kisses to them) and has never been a problem there even when they worked on her ears last week. Thanks for the tip, if we have to return to the cropping office again though for taping I'll definately take her to the double arches before we hit the office!

thats a shame the dog was so upser she had to be sedated, if my dog was like that i would leave it alone tbh, my boy is all natural...but then thats because it is against the law to doc tails and crop ears here...
