Just stay alert for that dreadful mix of dogs and Chocolate. Many will be hiding eggs and candy in those plastic egg things in parks that may or may not be found by the intended recipient. With my luck, my dogs will find the remains. So just be aware :)

Hi magtie,

I don't have an exact answer for this, but I do have a story. My friend has a small poodle mix who loves to eat anything he finds in his house. Her daughter left a piece of chocolate cake where the dog could get to it and left the room for a few minutes to answer the phone. Well, I bet you can guess what happened next. The poor little dog was very sick for over a week. The vet told her that smaller amounts wouldn't really hurt so much but since he had eaten a whole piece of cake it really gave him a belly ache and he didn't eat much or do much of anything except lay around for awhile. He did make a full recovery though.

I don't know if this answers your question, I just thought of that when I read your post.

I Hope you all had a wonderful resurrection day!

I have two stories of chocolate.. Indigo got a small bag of Hersey kisses off the counter and ate the whole bag except for the plastic. It was 16oz. She then proceeded to drink lots of water and her belly got swollen. When I came back in the house I was just messing around and I thought she didn't look right. I realized it was her belly and I sprang into action because my first thought was bloat. I then found the remains of the plastic bag of kisses and took her directly to the emergency vet where she got that shot that makes them vomit. She fully recovered within 2hrs. The other story is of a friend with a toy Yorkshire terrier. This dog at one Hersey kiss and almost died, they didn't realize he had eaten it so didn't go to vet and the dog got simply incredibly sick. When they then went to the vet, the diagnosis was chocolate. So it is all in the size of the dog.. but any chocolate encounter is not good. (and we always gave the dog a piece of birthday cake when I was growing up - who knew then?)
