Welcome and this is a great place for information on most any subject concerning dobes. Great combination of dogs out oldest dobe was raised by a female chocolate lab when he was growing up she mothered him and played with him all the time and he turned out to be a great dog.

I would think he would probably love the water too!!! My Echo who is now at the rainbow bridge was a water dog. Most of my Dobes hate the water but not Echo. I had a terrible time keeping her water bucket clean becasue she stood in it. Love the swimming pool, loved the pond. I swear she had some lab in her but maybe she was just raised with a lab. Some of her kids are real water dogs too. but not Eika. Eika is allergic to water she thinks.

Kybert - so glad you got to 15 and can now post your pictures. You have a wonderful sense of humor and I can't wait to hear more from you as well as see more pictures.
So you had to do the ears yourself??? Can't tell for sure from the cup but looks like a nice crop. Did his dew claws grow back or did you have to do them???

yeah, i got him from a friend who's parents breed dobes....they let me have him as a college grad. gift :) .....they had his tail docked after he was born.....ive paid for all his shots, had him microchipped, but yeah, the tapes their to keep him from scratching his ears w/ his dewclaws.....theyre being removed when he gets neutured in a few months.....and the crop is medium....Dr william Martin did they trim....he is very well known, a retired vet/great dane breeder, all he does now is doberman/great dane/boxer ear trimming and corrective surgery...cost me $450...but it was worth it

Glad you found a vet who could do them correctly. That is the biggest challenge people have if they are not a breeder who usually has a vet that they work with. Congratulations on graduation also!!
