Please keep my Gunny boy in your thoughts and prayers - Last Friday he started walking funny on his left front leg - same shoulder he hurt before UDC Natls. I took him to the Chiro who adjusted him but said he did not find anything really that would explain his throwing his left leg out.

I brought him home and watched him this weekend and did deep muscle massage but it did not help so this morning I took him to Dr. Becker my vet. He took one look and said surgery - Gunner had torn his muscle which caused the tendon to shrink so surgery was the only answer.

He had surgery at 3 pm and is now in recovery. He will stay for a couple days and then be on R & R again. Of course - he is enterd in the KC show forhis open - he will not be showing. I am so thankful that it was not any worse than it was.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and Gunner. Please keep us posted on his progress. I know how very scary this stuff can be. Here is hoping he will be back to his self before you know it.

Thank you Rhiannon. It has been so frustrating. He was entered in UDC Natls to finish his UDC open title. Then he got hurt (same shoulder which is what I think caused the problem) so he did not get to show. Then I entered him last Tues in the KC Show a week from Friday. Guess what - He can't show again. I told him he needs to so this stuff BEFORE I pay his entry fees.

Seriously - Just glad to have it a problem that could be fixed.

Gunner and you are in my thoughts and prayers. It always happens right after you have actually paid money that is non-refundable. I'm a veteran of many horse show fees down the drain.

Update- Gunner has stolen everyone hearts - This morning Jona said when she got there he was laying sphinxter like with ears up and eyes alert. Unlike the other dogs who were all barking and carrying on he seemed to be patiently waiting for someone to come get him as usual. I tell you CRATE TRAINING is a blessing. He is comfortable anywhere you put him. He is content with himself until it is his turn for attention. Of course then he wants it all non stop. I just have to get him early tomorrow before Jona steals him. Everytime he goes up there she tries to get me to let her have him.

Hope his recovery if speedy and I'm sure he wants to be home as bad as you want him home. Glad to hear all is going well keep us informed I know he is one of those great ambassadors of the breed, when there like that everyone wants them even if they don't like dogs and if they do like dogs they want them and appreciate them for the way they are.

Just saw this--Big hugs to Gunner on his recovery. Bring him here and I'll keep in "recovery "for 10 years or so, then you won't have to worry about Jona stealing him. LOL When is his next chance to show?

Sue - he is entered for 3 days in KC, MO next weekend. But of course, he will not be there bless his heart. He was feeling so good and really coming back after his previous injury that he just over did it. We have had a very light training with him to get him back into shape and not take any chances. But when he goes out he is so excited he has to tear around the yard, jump and be a wild man for a minute before I can get him to settle down. He just get so frustrated when he is not able to run and work.

The biggest challenge will be keeping him from jumping up on my bed til he is healed. Thank you for the offer to help him with his recovery. that boy just has a personality that everyone falls in love with and of course he is so smart that he just impresses everyone - He really is a BIG ham and loves to show off for anyone and everyone.
