I am getting frustrated with Thorn!! I take him out every hour all day and evening. He did really good the first two nights we had him. He would whine to get out of his crate , I would take him outside to do his buisness and all was fine. He would still have little accidents in the house but nothing terrible. Now he doesnt whine and goes potty in his crate, he just stops and pees wherever he wants and he just went pee on the couch !!! OMG!!! help:confused: I am not sure what I am doing wrong? I praise him like crazy when he goes outside and he still comes in and goes potty in the house!!!!! He also does something kind of weird ... he will pee but its only like 5 drops then walks away ... sometimes he stops and assumes the position to go pee and nothing comes out???? Whats up with that?

I would definitely have him checked by a vet for UTI. Peeing on the couch is not normal behavior especially after being good for 2 nights. Are you following a routine. No food after 6 pm no water after 7 pm. This will help him. If you are not directly supervising him then put him in his crate. As soon as you take him out of the crate take him directly outside to potty. Good luck - keep us posted.

The other thing that sometimes happens is that folks take them directly back inside after they finish their business, this is no fun and can make them think potty outside means back inside. So perhaps take a short walk if you can? Then if he potties on walk he gets to keep on walking?

Dobs4ever is right on...check for a UTI. I believe Jelly gave really good advice too. Puppies pick up on frustration easily- he might be frustrated too. Take a deep breath, relax and hang in there with him. He'll get it.

Here are a few things to remember if his crate is way bigger than he is block it off so he can only use a portion of it because puppies will go in the crate if it's to big. Key times to take them out are when they wake up, after they have been playing for a while, when they get done eating and when you take them out side tell them to go pee or poop when they get older they will do it on command when you say it. Try to take them to the same area they went before it helps with the process. Don't get frustrated remember he is small and doesn't have great control over things yet it will come and lastly try not to let him see you clean it up.
