I was shocked today when a k-9 trainer came by the house for something else and he saw Jett. I had previously decided not to have her evaled by him but today he saw me work her. After doing practically nothing for over a month with her formally, I thought she would have forgotten stuff. OH NO!! She strutted like she was on stage. Absolutely no mistakes on my commands!! She seemed to really like him so I let him take her for a few minutes. Well let me tell you, I had to sit down!! She did stuff I've never asked of her and stuff I had she did even better. She never took her eyes off him. He said he thought she was highly intelligent, eager, has good prey drive and might be a good candidate for pp later. Heck! Now I've GOT to keep working her. Hahaha. I'm VERY proud of her:D

Sounds terrific! Congrats on a good working girl! Hali is showing me the same. I said I know Dobes are smart, but this one is super smart. Sounds like you have one of those too!

Sue I am so sorry to hear that Jett is a Diva super star. No more lazy days for you. The bug will get you and you will be driven to reach even new heights. Seeking new levels, new tricks and soon AH yes you will be compelled to join all the rest of us nuts who eat, drink and sleep Dobermans, Training, Showing etc.
For Christmas and Birthdays you will seek new Dog equipment, a better vehicle to haul all your "stuff" in and the list just goes on.
Give Jett the Diva a Big hug from all of us and tell her we are proud she respresents the Dobermans so well!!

Thanks everyone. Jett is maturing into an absolutely wonderful dog...well....most days anyway. HaHa. I thought my retirement $ would be spent at spas. But with my beagle already in the hands of a professional handler to finish, if I decide to take Jett further I'm pretty sure spas will be left to the lazy rich. LOL

No spas for Diva mom's. Work work work to show her off the best! Just think of the brain cells that would have died if you were just laying around a spa vs having fun with your girl!

Sue - forget the spa - if you have the bug. Of course there is the lottery!!! Good Luck

Congratulations Sue dobermans never forget there commands unless they get the old dog syndrome and feel they have achieved the age that entitles them not to have to listen unless they feel like it. You have a great girl there and you both will do great in what ever direction you both want to go. It's a great feeling to see your hard work pay off and to know anything is possible. GOOD LUCK!
