Tomorrow I have Phoebe scheduled to be spayed. Has anyone gone through this with their girl? (she's going on 7 months)
I am just wondering what to expect in how she will act and react to me when I pick her up. It's a really hard decision as when I first got her wanted to breed but now think that it would not be the right thing for me for a number of reasons. I'm so worried you would almost think that I was going under the knife!

Please rest at ease. For the most part it is considered a common surgery although invasive. She will be sore and will need to stay quiet as possible for about 10 days. The vet should give you a complete list of post operatative suggestions. Usually they don't even have pain meds except for maybe the first couple days.
Hope all goes well. Keep us posted.

Very common surgery and as stated they are tender for a couple of days, then back to normal. I got Indigo from the SPCA and took her home the day after surgery. Some crate rest and then she was fine. Of course I have puppies that have been spayed and sometimes they don't have room for them in the adoption center right away, they all seem to do just fine. Tired for a bit but fine.

Thank you all for your support! She is of course doing fine, down one day and trying to bounce around the next. I am still trying to keep her still with minimal exercise but it is difficult because she just wants to go!

I can't tell you what a life saver my bedroom is - Poor Gunner has spent so much time shut up in it while he recuperates from one of him rambunctious injuries. I turn on animal planet for him if I am gone and he sleeps on the bed and stays relatatively calm.
Hope she is back to normal soon.

I think keeping them down is the hardest part with these guys and gals they are just so pain tolerant and have that great ability to rebound from this stuff so quickly. Good luck with the keeping her quite and glad to hear all went well.
