so I have been super duper excited to get my win picture because it was our first point together.....well it came today and I am less than thrilled

I was the second one in line of about 11 people and the judge didn't have much time. so the photographer snapped the picture before I was ready. I think Renic looks really good except I didn't have time to tuch his flews in.

I was just getting his tail up and checking my chain and he took the picture..... I was too worried that the people in line would hate me if I told him I wasn't ready. I didn't want to look so novice....

so now his flews are out, my hair is a mess, and my hand is covering his whole tail....what a lovely picture...NOT!

anyway, don't laugh at us...here we are, Renic's second point, owner/handled.

Don't worry about it! I think it's a neat picture, and he's a gorgeous boy!

My win pic was the same scenario, EXCEPT I framed it and hung it on the wall. (And definately would not [post it here) Then I would walk by and of course look at it and say "what was I thinkin?" oh, that's right I wasn't"...It is still up on the wall but not in as prominent setting. You have to remember it is more than a pic it is the validation you accompolished something that many can't, won't or just prefer to have someone else do for whatever reason. It really isn't that bad, and I speak from expirience...LOL...We are more critical of ourselves sometimes than is necessary! Someone told many years ago, you don't need to critisize yourself as long as others are willing too do so.

Congratulations on your win. It is fun when you can do the showing thing yourself. Don't be hard on yourself.....getting a great show picture is not the easiest thing to accomplish under the circumstances you were dealing with. My daughter does the same thing when she gets her show pics. Looking forward to seeing more.

thanks. I hung it up. I am still proud of my accomplishment. if my hand was not covering his tail, it would be stellar. I think HE looks amazing! but my stupid hand is in the way.... :(

I think it's a great picture! I too am WAY hard on myself everytime I see those freakin' show pics...... But I hate seeing myself in any pictures :-) It is VERY un-nerving when you have a line of people waiting for their pics even after years and years ( that's it..no more years or ya'll will know how old I am lol) The only thing I can see that would make him look any better is just being a tad further stretched out in the rear....and I'm talking like an inch. :-) Well Done!!!!

thanks, I thought the same thing! That is why it is nice to go to shows with other dobe people so they can say, back in inch, or forward in inch etc. I had no one....just me! So I did the best I could! but I agree, an inch back would have helped! and my hand off his tail, lol

I don't show but I think he's gorgeous. I like how he's focused on looking at his ribbon, sorta like "that's mine by gosh...I earned it!!" You can still see that he has a tail and it's up. Congrats to both of you. Especially since you did it alone. Your hard work shows:)

Usually on a show pic, someone or even the photgrapher throws a toy, uses a squeeky, etc to get the dogs attention. It is always nice to have a friend stand behind the photographer and have an opinion on how that photo looks prior to be taken. I had a win photo done of my Weim and the pic turned out looking like a crazed rabid dog with bulging eyes because of the focus on the toy the photographer threw. Good win pics are hard to get or at least so it has been my expierience, it is either good of the dog and the person looks like a fool or visa versa.....I have obedience photos as well and they usually are really nice of the dog, as he generally sits by your side, but then you look at yourslf and it is not as pleasing...so I think you rarely win with photos..LOL..I personally think the pic of the dogs in the corn field is AWESOME!!!! and it didn't cost $30.00...
