Maverick's Mom

Hi, I'm from Boise, Idaho :] I recently came home with the adorable "Maverick", an 8 wk old black and tan Dobe. I went all the way up to Seattle to get him and he'll now be 12 wks on Saturday!
I've grown up with GSD's so I don't really know much about Doberman's but I love the look and the attitude. Maverick has been a great companion so far, he's very much Mama's little boy. I have a bunch of questions since I don't know anything about the breed  and decided to look up a forum for help.
I do plan on doing Schutzhund with Mav and there's a Schutzhund club near my house that I've joined.
Any advice about raising a Dobe puppy would be much appreciated!

Welcome to you and your new baby. There are a good many people here on the forum that will have tips and suggestions. Hope that we can all help you and look forward to seeing photos of your new boy Maverick.

Welcome, Mav's! There are certainly many experienced voices here in our little community that are willing to help, but may I also suggest that you get down to your local library or bookstore and start reading! As a fairly new-to-Dobes person myself, I found a wealth of material on puppies, training, and also specifically on Dobes in our local library. I was amazed at how much there was to know, and how little I knew!:D Best of luck, post back with your progress.
