Hi, been looking at getting a doberman and had a few question. There at my local pet store, what kinda things should I look for or ask them when buying one from a pet store? They say that the pups have 2 of the 4 shots it needs. Any help is welcomed thanks

:)Again check out my post to your other post.....please don't buy from a local pet store. Not usually ever a good situation. Not without a lot of expense and heartache. And glad that you found this site. Lots of good information and help is available so ask all of the questions you need help with.

Thanks, kinda figured this would be the place to find out what kinda questions to ask instead of hours of digging it up over lots of websites. You all know these dogs well, so any help is for sure appreciated. I had a Chow chow mixed and raised it from a pup. Chows sound to be the same as Dobermans, very protective, and wants tons of attention. We had to keep her in line when she was a pup, cause she wanted to chase anything that moved. But with time we broke her of that. So i do have a little experience with a dog that you have to raise and not just get and let it run wild.

Hi. I didn't know a thing about dobies before we got our 2 and I wish I had done some research.

I have been very fortunate that both girls don't have any health problems and came to me in good condition without parasites etc but I have heard many hard stories from people who haven't been quite so lucky.

I love the girls to bits now(they are almost 2 years) but I found them to be quite different from other breeds of dog that I did know a bit about. good luck.
