Spring is coming thought this might help -

Here are some Essential oils that repell ticks...............opopanax myrrh {Commiphora erythraea} though hard to find.
True Rose Geranium {Pelargonium graveolens} though again rare and hard to find, expensive too.

palmarosa ( Cymbopogon martini motia} which is sold as Rose geranium is easier to get and does work. But, it is a strong scent and can interfere with a dogs scent retrieval.

A blend called Jungle Juice is toted to be better than Deet for repelling ticks, it is a blend of clove , peppermint and lemon essential oils. has been shown to be effective for up to 6 hours.

Marigold for horses -Ok, found one that is a constituent of Tagetes, Methylparaben! It has Anti fungal properties too, sooooooooooo, that mix does contain a bug repellent compound along with all that other wierd stuff!!! Interesting! WOW, my brain hurts now! Love it when i learn something new!!

Garlic given regularly will repell fleas as will vitamine B complex. Also the apple cider vinegar I give in the witches bres is good repellant. Garlic is also good for the heart.

I get Dr. Mercola's e-newsletter - _www.mercola. com_ (http://www.mercola. com)

Sorry DLS - Had I known I would have waited but with tick season coming on I posted it a little while ago. Some of it is what you had shared but you were not on this list at that time. I thought it was good.

I have in the past made my own repellant mixture and have recently come across this at my holistic vet's office.

Pet Peeve natural flea & tick repellent .

Something else I came across while surfing .

IMPORTANT TIP: GET A STICKY LINT ROLLER AND EACH TIME YOU TAKE YOUR PET FOR A WALK IN THE PARK OR WOODED AREAS USE THE LINT ROLLER OVER THE PET TO PICK UP ANY UNWANTED HITCH HIKERS. THIS IS GREAT FOR PETS THAT LIVE IN THE COUNTRY OR WHERE THERE ARE LOTS OF DEER.

I've tried a few of these but they still get fleas and ticks. I whelp up like I've been bite by a spider and just put frontline on the dogs monthly for everyone. Never seen a flea or tick on them. Much prefer the healthier option but wonder which one works best. Garlic is good for many things but it hasn't work on these ticks. Mostly seed ticks and maybe deer ticks. Hummmmmmm? Any suggestions?

I wonder if the longer warmer weather makes any difference. But these seed ticks are aweful and can't bring them inside. If you get into them, you have hundreds of them on you in minutes....it's a nightmare! I wondered about frontline.??? Do you have seed ticks?
